A competition held in Moscow in honor of Tchaikovsky. Its official name is the International Competition in Honour of Tchaikovsky (Mezhdunarodnyi Konkurs imeni PIChaikovskogo). It was founded in 1958 and has been held every four years since then. The first competition in 1958 had two categories, piano and violin, but the second (1962) added a cello category, and the third (1966) added a vocal category, bringing the total to the current four categories. チャイコフスキーを記念してモスクワで行われるコンクール。正式名称〈チャイコフスキー記念国際コンクールMezhdunarodnyi Konkurs imeni P.I.Chaikovskogo〉。1958年に創設され,以来4年ごとに開催されている。第1回の58年には,ピアノとバイオリンの2部門であったが,第2回(1962)にチェロ部門を加え,第3回(1966)にさらに声楽部門を加えて現行の4部門となった。
