King of Prussia (reigned 1861-1888) and German Emperor (reigned 1871-1888). Brother of Frederick William III. He appointed talented people such as Bismarck in politics and Roon and Moltke in the military, and achieved German unification, becoming the first emperor of the German Empire. He was a man of great military talent and believed in the divine right of kings.
