Bushveld intrusion - Bushveld intrusion

Japanese: ブッシュフェルト貫入岩体 - ブッシュフェルトかんにゅうがんたい(英語表記)Bushveld intrusion
Bushveld intrusion - Bushveld intrusion
A layered intrusion in the Transvaal Province of South Africa. It is a vast mass with an area of 67,000 km2 (460 km east-west, 245 km north-south) and a thickness of over 7,000 m. It was once thought to be a single layered intrusion, but is now thought to be a collection of five layered intrusions. It dates back 2.05 billion years. The Bushveld layered intrusion intruded almost conformably into the Precambrian Transvaal System (2.2 billion years ago), and caused significant contact metamorphism in the Transvaal System.
