Bandy

Bandy
A game similar to ice hockey, played in limited areas such as Scandinavia and the Baltic countries. It is said to have originated in England in the late 18th century and became the prototype of ice hockey. Players wear skates and handle a tennis ball-sized ball with a curved stick. A match is played between two teams of 8 to 11 players each, and each team aims for the other team's goal and competes to score the most points within a certain time. The game lasts for 45 minutes each. The size of the rink used as the playing field varies, but generally a larger rink than that used in ice hockey is used. The goalkeeper does not use a stick, but uses his hands and body to protect the goal. Also, playing behind the goalposts is prohibited. There are many rules common to soccer, such as free strokes and penalty strokes being awarded to the opposing team depending on the severity of the foul and the place where the foul was committed. Players can be substituted freely.
