An abrasive used for medium polishing (rough polishing) and finish polishing (shine polishing) in buff finishing. It consists mainly of an abrasive (abrasive grains), which is dispersed in oils or wax, or suspended in water, emulsifiers, surfactants, etc. For rough polishing (base polishing) in buff finishing, coarse abrasive grains are usually attached to the outer surface of the buff with adhesive. Buffing abrasives are classified as shown in the table. Rod-shaped buffing abrasives are solid at room temperature and are formed into a rod shape for convenient use.
