?-1430 A Timurid historian. Born in Herat or Haf, he was educated in Hamadan. He served three generations of rulers: Timur, Shah Rukh, and Baysungur, and compiled many historical and geographical works, providing models for subsequent historiography. He died in Zanjan in 1430 while traveling in Azerbaijan. His major works include Dhayl-i Jāmi' al-Tawārīkh, Collected Chronicles, and The Essence of History.
