Derived Demand

Japanese: 派生需要

This is the demand that arises as a result of the demand for a certain product. The demand for raw materials is mainly derived demand. In other words, when demand for final consumer goods arises, the producer of the final consumer goods will order the raw materials. From the perspective of raw material demand, demand only arises when demand for final consumer goods arises, and it is difficult for producers to stimulate demand through their own efforts.

ある商品に需要が発生すると、それによって派生的に生じる需要のこと。原材料などの需要は主にこの派生需要である。つまり、最終消費財の需要が発生すると、そこで最終消費財生産者が原材料を発注することになる。原材料需要からみると、最終消費財需要が発生してはじめて需要が発生することになり、自らのカで需要を喚起することはできにくい立場におかれている。
