The Magic Lotus

...It features wizards and ghosts, praises bravery and loyalty, and is permeated with a Buddhist view of fate. It was dramatized during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (1868-1910), made into an opera during the reign of Rama VI (1910-25), translated into English as The Magic Lotus, and has been made into a film many times. It was first printed in 1902.
