Cystic lung disease

Japanese: 肺囊胞症 - はいのうほうしょう（英語表記）cystic lung disease

Also called cystic lung disease, it is not a single disease, but a group of diseases in which abnormal spaces are formed in the lungs without direct destruction of lung tissue due to inflammation or tumors. In this respect, it differs from cavities that are formed when lesions in the lungs become necrotic and are discharged. Depending on what the walls of the cysts are made of, they are divided into alveolar and bronchial. In alveolar cysts, adjacent alveoli fuse together due to destruction of the alveolar wall to form a cyst, and the inner walls are surrounded by alveolar epithelial cells. These include bullae that form inside the lungs, blebs that form just below the pleura, progressive giant bullae, and giant vacuoles (pneumatoceles).

囊胞性肺疾患ともいい，単一の疾患ではなく，炎症や腫瘍などによる直接的な肺組織の破壊によらずに，肺内に異常空間の生じる一連の疾患群をいう。この点で肺内に生じた病変が壊死に陥り，それが排出されて生じる空洞cavityとは異なる。囊胞の壁が何によっているかで肺胞性と気管支性に分けられる。肺胞性囊胞は，肺胞壁の破壊によって隣接する肺胞が癒合し囊胞を形成し，内壁は肺胞上皮細胞で囲まれている。これには肺の内部にできるブラbulla，胸膜直下にできるブレブblleb，進行性巨大気胞性囊胞progressive giant bullaおよび巨大空胞pneumatoceleがある。
