A former town in Nishimorokata County in the southern part of Miyazaki Prefecture. Facing a tributary of the Oyo River, it has a strong rural character. Rice, vegetable and livestock farming are thriving. The artificial lake Nojiri Lake created by Iwase Dam and the Okinoo Gorge area are tourist destinations. Take a bus from Kobayashi City.
