Mt. Notori

Japanese:
Mt. Notori

It is a mountain in the northern part of the Akaishi Mountain Range (Southern Alps). Together with Kitadake and Ainotake, it constitutes the Shirane Sanzan (Three Mountains of the Shirane Mountains). It is the southernmost of the three mountains, with an elevation of 3,051 meters. It is included in the Southern Alps National Park. In spring, snow remains on this mountain, visible from the Kofu Basin, in the shape of a swan with its neck outstretched. This corresponds to the sowing season for seedbeds, hence the name of the mountain. Climbing the mountain involves a traverse of the three mountains, and the most common route is to reach this peak from Hirogawara in Ashiyasu Ashikura, Southern Alps City, Yamanashi Prefecture, via Kitadake, and then descend from Daimonzawa to Narada (Hayakawa Town).
