Yoshiyuki Imai

Japanese: 今井嘉幸 - いまいよしゆき

1878-1951 A politician from the Taisho to early Showa periods.
Born May 25, 1878. After working as a lawyer, he was elected to the House of Representatives in 1917 on the promise of universal suffrage. In 1918, he organized the West Japan Universal Suffrage Grand Alliance, and after universal suffrage was implemented, he founded the Kansai People's Party. He was re-elected in the 1942 Imperial Rule Assistance Election. He passed away on June 30, 1951. He was 73 years old. He was from Ehime Prefecture. He graduated from Tokyo Imperial University.

明治11年5月25日生まれ。弁護士をへて大正6年普通選挙を公約に衆議院議員に当選。11年西日本普選大連合を組織し,普選実施後は関西民衆党をつくる。昭和17年翼賛選挙で再選された。昭和26年6月30日死去。73歳。愛媛県出身。東京帝大卒。
