Screwdriver - Screwdriver

A tool used to screw in and remove various types of screws. It is called a screwdriver in English, and is also called a screwdriver for short. It is usually a steel rod with a straight end and a wooden or plastic handle attached to the other end. It is generally used for small screws. The straight part of the screwdriver tip is inserted into the straight groove on the head of the screw to turn the screw. There are flat-head screwdrivers with straight tips and Phillips screwdrivers used for cross-recessed screws. Care must be taken when using a screwdriver with a straight tip that matches the size of the groove, as it can damage the tip of the screwdriver or the head of the screw.

各種のねじをねじ込んだり、または取り外すために用いられる工具。英語でスクリュードライバーscrewdriver、略してドライバーともいう。鋼製の棒の先端を直線状に成形し、他端に木、プラスチックなどの握りを取り付けたものが普通である。一般に小さなねじに用いられる。ねじの頭部についている直線状の溝に、ねじ回しの先端の直線部を入れてねじを回転させる。直線状の先端をもつマイナスねじ回しと、十字穴付きねじに使用するプラスねじ回しとがある。先端が直線状のねじ回しは、溝の大きさにあったものを使用しないと、ねじ回しの先端部またはねじの頭部を損傷するので注意を要する。
