A former town in Nitta County, southeastern Gunma Prefecture. The northern part is the alluvial fan of the Watarase River, and the southern part is a low-lying rice paddy area. Kizaki, in the center, developed as a post town on the Nikko Reiheishi Kaido road during the Edo period. The Tobu Isesaki Line runs through the town. The grounds of Ikushina Shrine (historic site) are said to be the place where Nitta Yoshisada raised his army. In March 2005, it was incorporated into Ota City along with Ojima Town and Yabutsukahonmachi Town in Nitta County. 38.22 km2 . Population 37,000 (2003). 群馬県南東部,新田郡の旧町。北部は渡良瀬(わたらせ)川扇状地,南部は低平な水田地帯。中心の木崎は江戸時代,日光例幣使(れいへいし)街道の宿場町として発達。東武伊勢崎線が通じる。生品(いくしな)神社境内(史跡)は新田義貞挙兵の地といわれる。2005年3月新田郡尾島町,藪塚本町町と太田市へ編入。38.22km2。3万7人(2003)。
