Nansei [town] - Nansei
An old town in the southern part of the Shima Peninsula, Watarai County, Mie Prefecture. Surrounded by the ria-type Gokasho Bay, pearl farming and mandarin orange cultivation are thriving. Deep-sea fishing is also practiced. The entire area is part of Ise-Shima National Park, and Hosoya has a tropical fern colony (a natural monument). In November 2005, it merged with Minamijima Town, Watarai County, to become Minamiise Town, Watarai County. Area: 109.83 km2 . Population: 10,535 (2003).

三重県度会(わたらい)郡，志摩半島南部の旧町。リアス式の五ヶ所湾をいだき，真珠養殖，ミカン栽培が盛ん。遠洋漁業も行う。全域伊勢志摩国立公園に属し，細谷には暖地性シダ群落（天然記念物）がある。2005年11月，度会郡南島町と合併し町制，度会郡南伊勢町となる。109.83km2。１万535人（2003）。
