1702 * -1737 The 114th Emperor of Japan in the mid-Edo period. Reigned 1709-35.
Born December 17, 17th year of the Genroku era. The fifth son of Emperor Higashiyama. His mother was Fujiwara no Kako (Shin Sukenmon'in). He ascended to the throne after his father abdicated, but the Daijosai ceremony, which had been revived during his father's reign, was cancelled again. The shogunate was under the 6th Tokugawa Shogun Ienobu, the 7th Shogun Ietsugu, and the 8th Shogun Yoshimune. He had his younger brother Prince Naohito establish the Kan'innomiya family. He died on April 11th, 17th year of the Genbun era. He was 37 years old. His grave is in Tsukinowa no Misasagi (Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City). His childhood name was Masunomiya. His given name was Yasuhito. His works include "Kujiburui" (Public Affairs).

元禄(げんろく)14年12月17日生まれ。東山天皇の第5皇子。母は藤原賀子(新崇賢門院)。父の譲位をうけて即位するが,父の代に復活した大嘗(だいじょう)祭はまた中止となる。幕府は6代将軍徳川家宣(いえのぶ),7代家継(いえつぐ),8代吉宗の時代。弟直仁(なおひと)親王に閑院宮家を創立させた。元文2年4月11日死去。37歳。墓所は月輪陵(つきのわのみささぎ)(京都市東山区)。幼称は長(ますの)宮。諱(いみな)は慶仁(やすひと)。著作に「公事(くじ)部類」など。
