A manor located in Ika County, Omi Province. The manor area stretched from Takatsuki-cho to Kinomoto-cho in Shiga Prefecture (both have been merged and are now Nagahama City). In the Kamakura period, it was the property of Enryaku-ji Temple, and within the manor there was a foundation for the Meshitsugi (a position for servants of the emperor). The manor was governed by three lines: the manor lord - Somandokoro (administrator) - Daikan (deputy governor) - Nakaji, the Kanjoshu (accountant) - Somandokoro - Nakaji, and the Sanmon envoy - Somandokoro - Nakaji, and it seems that within the Enryaku-ji territory the Sanmon envoy had authority equivalent to that of a shugo (military governor). There were manor officials in various villages within the manor, such as Amemori, Iguchi, and Doganji, and each village formed its own soson (village). A large number of documents have been preserved at Iguchi Hiyoshi Shrine within the manor, which reveal a variety of aspects of the area, such as the taxes imposed when Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimochi visited Enryaku-ji Temple in 1421, the laborers working to repair the temple, a dispute over an irrigation well in 1422, peasants' requests for exemptions following poor harvests, cases of illegal logging and murder, and the activities of loan sharks.
