A general term for insects of the family Encyrtidae in the order Hymenoptera. Small parasitic wasps with a body length of about 1-2 mm. Many have a broad, hemispherical head and short antennae with 8-12 segments. They have large spurs on the tibiae of their middle legs, which they use to jump, hence the name Encyrtidae. They are distributed widely around the world and there are many species, with over 120 species in Japan. They mainly parasitize scale insects and psyllids, but some are known to parasitize moth larvae, ladybug larvae, and fly flies.

膜翅目トビコバチ科Encyrtidaeの昆虫の総称。小さい寄生バチで，体長1～2mm内外。頭部は幅広く半球形のものが多く，触角は短く8～12節。中肢の脛節（けいせつ）に大きな距棘（きよきよく）があり，これで跳ぶのでトビコバチといわれる。世界に広く分布し，種類数も多く，日本には120種以上分布する。おもにカイガラムシ，キジラミなどに寄生するが，ガの幼虫，テントウムシの幼虫，ヒラタアブなどに寄生するものも知られている。
