A town in Shozu County in the northwest of Shodo Island in northern Kagawa Prefecture. The main settlement is at the neck of the island at the western end, and it is the transportation and tourism center of the island, with regular ferries running from Takamatsu City. The town produces mandarin oranges and potatoes, and also raises livestock. Fishing is also thriving. Area: 74.37 km2 . Population: 15,123 (2010).
