Japanese: 乙前 - おとまえ

1087?-1170? A female entertainer from the late Heian period.
Born in the first year of the Kanji era. Known as a master of Imayo, according to the "Ryōjin Hishō Kudenshū" (Ryōjin Hishō Kudenshū), in the second year of the Hōgen era, he became a disciple of Emperor Goshirakawa. The Emperor's love of Imayo, "all day long, all night long...", led to Otsumae's name being passed down to posterity. He is said to have died around the second year of the Kaō era, at the age of 84.

1087?－1170?　平安時代後期の女性芸能者。
寛治(かんじ)元年？生まれ。今様の名手といわれ「梁塵秘抄口伝集(りょうじんひしょうくでんしゅう)」によると保元(ほうげん)2年後白河天皇と師弟の関係をむすぶ。法皇の「昼はひねもす,夜はよもすがら……」という今様の愛好ぶりが乙前の名を後世につたえることとなった。嘉応(かおう)2年ごろ84歳で没したという。
