Tokiwazu Mojibei - Tokiwazu Mojibei
Tokiwazu shamisen player. (1) First Generation (1839-1906, Tempo 10-Meiji 39). Real name Tomisaka Mojibei. Son of a blacksmith from Echigo. Studied under Tokiwazu Mojihachi and was called Yasotayu, but later became a shamisen player and changed his name to Yasomatsu. After the split of the Kishizawa school, he changed his name to Mojibei in September 1862 (Bunkyu 2). After playing a supporting role for Bunzaemon at the Nakamura Theater, he became active as a standing shamisen player and later changed his name to Bunsa. (2) Second Generation (1857-1924, Ansei 4-Taisho 13). Real name Suzuki Kintaro. Disciple of the first generation. Son of the first generation Mojisuke, originally named Yaoya, the second generation inherited the name after the death of the first generation.

常磐津節三味線方。(1)初世(1839‐1906∥天保10‐明治39) 本名富坂文字兵衛。越後の鍛冶職人の子。常磐津文字八に師事,八十太夫と名のるが,のち三味線弾きとなり八十松と改名。岸沢派分裂ののち1862年(文久2)9月文字兵衛と改名,中村座で文左衛門の脇を勤めたのち立三味線として活躍,晩年文佐と改名。(2)2世(1857‐1924∥安政4‐大正13) 本名鈴木金太郎。初世門弟。初世文字助の子で初名八百八,初世没後2世襲名。
