Japanese: 桃林堂蝶麿 - とうりんどう・ちょうまろ

Year of birth: Year of birth and death unknown. A writer of ukiyo-zoshi in the Edo period. From the Genroku period (1688-1704) to the beginning of the Hoei period (1704-11), he published over a dozen erotic books in Edo. In "Koshoku Akaeboshi," published in 1695, the protagonist uses a plot device in which he peeks into other people's bedrooms, and some of his works also include illustrations similar to shunga. There is also a theory that he is the same person as Amano Torin, a haiku poet of the Sho school, but there is no definite proof.

江戸時代の浮世草子作者。元禄(1688～1704)から宝永(1704～11)はじめにかけて,江戸で好色本を十数冊出版した。元禄8年刊の『好色赤烏帽子』では,主人公が他人の閨房を覗きまわるという趣向を用いているが,作品のなかには,春画まがいの挿絵をまじえるものもある。また,蕉門の俳人である天野桃隣と同一人とする説があるが,確証はない。
