A device that converts motion picture film into a video signal and transmits it. It is also called a film image transmission device. The word telecine is a combination of the words television and cinema, and a telecine is an input device in the television system that has the function of converting film to video. Current telecine systems are classified into four types: (1) camera tube telecine, (2) FSS (short for flying spot scanner) telecine, (3) CCD telecine, and (4) laser telecine, each of which has a different scanning method.
