Ao

A district of Iga City in the mid-west of Mie Prefecture. Formerly Abo Town. In the Middle Ages and Early Modern Periods, it was a post town on the Hase Highway, which connected Yamato and Ise. Even today, there are rows of houses that still retain their past as night lights. National Route 165 runs through the area, and Aoyamacho Station on the Kintetsu Railway Osaka Line is located here.

三重県中西部、伊賀市(いがし)の一地区。旧阿保町。中、近世に大和(やまと)と伊勢(いせ)を結ぶ初瀬(はせ)街道の宿場であった。現在も常夜灯や当時のおもかげを残す家並みがある。国道165号が通じ、近畿日本鉄道大阪線青山町駅がある。
