Perpendicularity is the amount by which a plane or straight line, which should be perpendicular to a datum (plane or straight line) that is the reference for a machine part, deviates from the geometrically correct plane or straight line that is perpendicular to it, and is one of the attitude deviations. There are four types: a plane or straight line relative to a datum plane, and a plane or straight line relative to a datum straight line. For an object that moves on a machine, such as a table that moves back and forth and left and right, the deviation from the right angle of the left and right movement relative to the front and back direction is called the perpendicularity of the movement (or movement).

直角度とは機械部品の基準とするデータム(平面または直線)に対して，直角であるべき平面形体または直線形体が，直角にある幾何学的に正しい平面または直線から狂っている大きさであり，姿勢偏差の一つである。データム平面に対する平面形体または直線形体，データム直線に対する平面形体または直線形体の四つがある。機械上で移動する物体，例えば前後，左右に動くテーブルにおいて，前後方向に対する左右方向の動きの直角からの狂いを運動(または移動)の直角度という。
