To entrust another person with a certain action, such as entrusting them with the management of funds or transporting luggage. Entrustment creates a relationship of trust between the trustor and the trustee and can be said to be the basis of certain legal relationships, but it is not a concept with a legally defined content, and depending on the content, it can give rise to legal relationships such as commission, deposit, contract, wholesale, transport, and trust. The person entrusted with the entrustment handles the affairs at his or her own discretion in accordance with the purpose of the entrustment.

資金を預けてその運営を頼んだり、荷物の運送を頼むなど、他人を信頼してある行為を依頼すること。委託は、委託者と受託者との間に信任関係を生じさせ、一定の法律関係の基礎をなすものといえるが、法律的に定まった内容をもつ概念ではなく、その内容により、委任、寄託、請負、問屋、運送、信託などの法律関係を生じさせる。委託を受けた者は、委託の趣旨に従って自己の裁量で事務を処理する。
