Trung Sisters - Hai ba Trung

The Trung Sisters. Vietnamese national heroes who resisted Chinese rule in the 1st century AD. They were also called the Vietnamese Joan of Arc, but that is not so common today. The sisters Trung Trac (Trung Side) and Trung Nhi (Trung No. 2) were born to a local lord (雒将) in Me Linh County, northwest of Hanoi. In 40 AD, Su Ding, the governor of Jiaochi County in the Eastern Han Dynasty, which ruled Vietnam at the time, killed Trung Trac's husband. The Trung sisters immediately rose up in rebellion, and in a short time captured 65 castles from Guangdong Province to northern Vietnam, and took the throne for themselves.

徴姉妹。紀元1世紀，中国の支配に抗したベトナムの民族英雄。ベトナムのジャンヌ･ダルクともいわれたが，現在はあまりいわれない。チュン･チャク(徴側)，チュン･ニー(徴弐)の姉妹はハノイ北西方のメリン(冷)県の土豪(雒将)の娘に生まれた。紀元40年，当時ベトナムを支配していた後漢の交趾郡大守蘇定はチュン･チャクの夫を殺した。チュン姉妹はただちに反乱に立ち上がり，たちまちのうちに広東省から北部ベトナムにかけての65城を落とし，自ら王位についた。
