A Chinese poet of the late Tang Dynasty. His pen name was Duanji. He was from Duling (Xian, Shaanxi Province). When he fled to Luoyang to escape the Huang Chao Rebellion, he heard from a woman who had fled Chang'an about the devastation and misery of the capital and its surroundings, and wrote the long seven-syllable ancient poem "Qinfu Gin" (Shinpu Gin), which made him famous. He then fled to Jiangnan to escape further, and after traveling around the country for over ten years, he returned to the capital, and in 894 (Qianning 1), he passed the Jinshi examination and was appointed as a prosecuting scribe. In 901 (Tenfu 1), he took refuge in Western Shu, and when the Tang Dynasty fell in 907 (Tenyu 4), he served Wang Jian, who was based in Former Shu and proclaimed himself emperor, and rose to the position of prime minister.

His poems are often simple and full of sorrow. He also excelled in the new style of poetry, and is a representative poet of the "Kakanshu" along with Ontein. His style of poetry is elegant yet elegant, and he has created a unique realm. He compiled the Tang poetry collection "Yu Xuanshu" and wrote "Kankashū".

中国、晩唐の詩人。字(あざな)は端己(たんき)。杜陵(とりょう)(陝西(せんせい)省西安)の人。黄巣(こうそう)の乱を洛陽(らくよう)に避けたとき、長安から逃れてきた一婦人より、都一帯の荒廃と悲惨のようすを聞き、長編の七言古詩『秦婦吟(しんぷぎん)』をつくって一躍有名になった。その後さらに江南に難を避け、10余年各地遍歴のすえ、都に戻り、894年(乾寧1)進士に及第、校書郎の官を授かった。901年(天復1)西蜀(せいしょく)に身を寄せ、907年(天祐4)唐が滅びると、前蜀(ぜんしょく)に拠(よ)って帝を唱えた王建に仕え、宰相に至った。

 その詩は平明で哀傷に満ちたものが多い。また新興の詞にも優れ、温庭筠(おんていいん)と並ぶ『花間集(かかんしゅう)』の代表詞人となっている。詞風は艶麗(えんれい)のうちにも清淡の趣(おもむき)を備え、独自の境地を築いている。唐詩集『又玄集(ゆうげんしゅう)』を編み、著に『浣花集(かんかしゅう)』がある。
