The military service privileges for graduates of normal schools, as stipulated in the Military Service Law. After the major revision of the conscription law in 1889, a six-week active duty system was established in which public elementary school teachers under the age of 28 who had a normal school diploma could serve six weeks of active duty and then immediately be transferred to national military service. This was a great privilege compared to the general military service system at the time, which consisted of three years of active duty, four years and three months of reserve service, and five years of reserve service before being transferred to national military service. This system was changed to one year of active duty in 1918. It was further changed to a short-term active duty system by the Military Service Law of 1927.

兵役法に定められた師範学校卒業者に対する兵役上の特典。1889年の徴兵令大改正ののち，師範学校の卒業証書を有する満28歳以下の官公立小学校教員は6週間現役に服したのちただちに国民兵役に編入する6週間現役兵制が創設された。当時一般の兵役が現役3年，予備役4年3ヵ月，後備役5年の服役後に国民兵役に編入される制であったことにくらべると大変な特典であった。この制は1918年に1年現役兵に改められた。27年の兵役法により，さらに短期現役兵の制に改められた。
