Burning volcano - Takuhiyama

This mountain is located in the southern part of Nishinoshima Town, Dozen, Oki Islands, Shimane Prefecture. It is 452m above sea level. It is made of quartz trachyte and is the central volcano of Dozen, which has a volcanic body. On the middle slope, there is Yakohi Shrine, which is associated with Emperor Gotoba, and is worshiped by shipping companies. The area around the southern foot of the mountain belongs to Daisen-Oki National Park. 島根県隠岐諸島の島前，西ノ島町南部にある山。標高 452m。石英粗面岩から成り，火山体の形をなす島前の中央火山にあたる。中腹には後鳥羽上皇ゆかりの焼火神社があり海運業者の信仰を集めている。南麓一帯は大山隠岐国立公園に属する。
