A town in Kamikawa County, located in central Hokkaido, to the north of Asahikawa City. With irrigation ditches drawing water from the Ishikari River, the town is home to large rice paddies and produces agricultural products such as tomato juice and sunflower oil. To the south lies Mt. Chikabumi, which offers a great view. The town is also home to the Asahikawa Takasu Interchange on the Do-o Expressway. Area: 139.42 km2 . Population: 7,345 (2010). 北海道中央部，旭川市北隣の上川郡の町。石狩川から取水した灌漑(かんがい)溝が発達，大水田地帯をなし，トマトジュース，ヒマワリ油など農産加工物も産する。南部に展望のよい近文(ちかぶみ)山がある。道央自動車道旭川鷹栖インターチェンジがある。139.42km2。7345人（2010）。
