Counterparty funds for aid to Japan

Japanese: 対日援助見返資金 - たいにちえんじょみかえりしきん

After World War II, a special account was set aside from other financial funds to fund the yen equivalent of American aid to Japan, and was used to rebuild the economy and stabilize the currency. It is also called a counter-fund. Its official name is the Special Account for Counter-funds for American Aid to Japan, and as part of the Dodge Line, a special account for counter-funds for American Aid to Japan was established in the Bank of Japan under the government's name in the Special Account for Counter-funds for American Aid to Japan Act, based on an order from GHQ in April 1949. The aid itself ended in fiscal year 1952, but the special account continued to exist until July 1953, and the assets of the account were then taken over by the newly established Special Account for Industrial Investment.

第2次大戦後，アメリカの対日援助について，それに見合う円換算額を他の財政資金とは別に積み立て，経済の再建，通貨の安定を図るために運用した特別会計。見返資金ともいう。正称は米国対日援助見返資金特別会計といい，ドッジ･ラインの一環として1949年4月GHQの指令に基づき，〈米国対日援助見返資金特別会計法〉により，日本銀行に政府名義の〈対日援助見返資金特別勘定〉を設置した。援助そのものは52年度で終わったが特別会計は53年7月まで存続し，以降その会計の資産は新設の産業投資特別会計に引き継がれた。
