After the Xinhai Revolution in China, this group, centered around the Qing dynasty imperial family, attempted to restore the Qing dynasty and secure independence for Manchuria and Mongolia. During the Xinhai Revolution, Liangbi (Liangbi) united forces in support of the Qing dynasty and against the republic, but was assassinated in January 1912. After the fall of the Qing dynasty, Prince Su (Shanqi) and others joined forces with right-wing Japanese military officer Kawashima Naniwa and others to plot the restoration of the Qing dynasty twice, in 1912 and 1916. In the second attempt, with the tacit approval of the Japanese government, they led a Mongolian aristocrat Babujab (Babu Zhabu) to revolt for independence for Manchuria and Mongolia, but this failed due to a change in Japanese policy following the sudden death of Yuan Shikai.
