Sen'yasetsu - Sen'yasetsu

Japanese:
Sen'yasetsu - Sen'yasetsu

One of the three major cosmological theories of ancient China. Unlike the Gaitian theory, which considers the universe to be a hemisphere covering the earth, and the Hun Tian theory, which considers the universe to be a spherical celestial sphere, Xuan Ye theory is characterized by its teaching that the universe is empty and without substance. The sky is empty, lofty, and limitless. The sun, moon, and stars float in the air, moving and standing still. Sometimes they move forward, sometimes backward, but everything follows an independent rule. However, they do not have a substance, and the stars appear when the energy condenses and disappear when the energy dissipates. The sun moves one angle a day, the moon moves 13 degrees, and the five planets move at their own speeds, but this is because the celestial bodies are not attached to anything. The possibility of infinite space not bound by the celestial sphere is at the root of this idea. All of the books on the Xuan Ye theory have been lost, and it is written in the Tianwenzhi of the Book of Jin that Qi Meng of the Later Han Dynasty summarized his teacher's theory.
