A coelenterate (Cnidaria) of the family Zoanthidae in the class Anthozoa. It is found from central to southern Honshu, and lives attached to the body of the hydrozoan Sudarega. Each individual is cylindrical, 3.5 mm in diameter and 5 mm in height, with 34 to 38 pale pink tentacles arranged in two rings at the tip. Each individual arises from a yellowish-brown membranous coenchyma, has a thick body wall and contains many nematocysts. They are dioecious. 花虫綱スナギンチャク科の腔腸動物(刺胞動物)。本州中部以南に分布し,ヒドロ虫類のスダレガヤの体上に付着して生活している。個虫は径3.5mm,高さ5mmの円筒形で,先端には淡紅色の触手が2環列になって34~38本並んでいる。おのおのの個虫は黄褐色の膜状の共肉から生じ,体壁は厚く多くの刺胞をもっている。雌雄異体。共肉内に囊胸類のキンチャクムシが寄生していることがある。【今島 実】
