World Missionary Conference

Japanese: 世界宣教会議 - せかいせんきょうかいぎ（英語表記）World Missionary Conference

A world conference to discuss missionary work in modern Protestant churches. It was held in London (1880), New York (1900), and Edinburgh (1910), and at this conference a movement to form the International Missionary Council was born, which was realized in 1921. At the Jerusalem Conference in 1928, representatives of churches from missionary territories in Asia, Africa, etc. attended along with the European and American churches that were the parent organizations for overseas missionary work, and they gained equal status as partners in missionary work.

現代のプロテスタント教会の伝道を論じた世界会議。ロンドン(1880)，ニューヨーク(1900)についでエジンバラ(1910)と続き，ここで国際宣教協議会International Missionary Council結成の動きが生まれ，1921年に実現した。28年のエルサレム会議には，海外伝道の母体である欧米諸教会とともに，アジア，アフリカなどの被伝道地の教会代表も出席，伝道のパートナーとしての対等の地位を得た。
