A haiku poet of the mid-Edo period. Matsuoka. Commonly known as Nabegoro. Also known by the pseudonyms Yushoan, Ritsuan, and Kuri no Moto. Born in Himeji, Harima Province (Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture), he was a samurai of the Himeji domain stationed in Edo, but was banished due to poor conduct. He then traveled around the country, shaved his head at the age of 29, and devoted himself to haiku activities. He first studied under Genbu-bo and was also influenced by Ranko. He was friends with Chora, Buson, Kitou, and Kyotai, and became a leading figure in the revival of haiku poets. His haiku style is simple but has a simple and simple flavor. He has edited and written works such as "Seiryo Hakkushu" (1797). Died on June 17, 1790. The pheasant cries, and the light that shines on the shovel is like a pheasant's cry.
