King of Norway. Reigned 1177-1202. Founder of the Sbellen dynasty (1177-1319). Claimed to be the illegitimate son of King Sigur Mund, who was murdered in 1155. Became the leader of the Birkebeiner, a group of poor peasants who had lost their leader at the time, and claimed the throne. He fought against King Magnus Erlingsson (reigned 1161-84), seized Nidaros, and became king (1177). Having won a long battle against King Magnus, who was supported by the church and the powerful families, after his victory in 1184 he organized a powerful dynasty with its own power.

ノルウェー王。在位1177‐1202年。スベッレ朝(1177‐1319)の祖。1155年に殺された王シグル･ムンの庶子を称す。当時指導者を失っていた貧農出身の徒党ビルケベイネルの領袖となり，王位を要求，マグヌス･エルリングスソンMagnus Erlingsson王(在位1161‐84)と戦い，ニダロスを奪取，王位を得る(1177)。教会と門閥豪族の支持を受けたマグヌス王とのながい戦いに勝ち抜いたため，1184年の勝利後は，独自の権力による強力な王朝を組織した。
