The world's first national park in the Rocky Mountains in the western United States. It was designated as the first national park in the United States in 1872 to conserve resources, and has since become a model for national parks around the world. It is centered in the northwestern tip of Wyoming and spreads across Montana and Idaho, with an area of ​​about 9,000 km2 (twice the size of Yamanashi Prefecture). The park is a volcanic plateau with many mountains over 3,000 m high and covered with glaciers. There are about 10,000 hot springs, geysers (about 200), fumaroles, and mud volcanoes within the park. It is rich in wildlife, including the famous Old Faithful geyser (average interval 64.5 minutes, average height 50 m), the great canyon of the Yellowstone River, waterfalls, lakes, forests, and wildlife such as bears and foxes.
