New Mohe

Japanese: 新靺鞨 - しんまか
New Mohe
The name of a piece of gagaku and bugaku music. It is included in Komagaku and is in the Goryeo Ichikotsu style. It is a four-person dance, Bun no mai (Heimai). The pair dance is Saisourou. The performers wear special costumes for this piece, a Chinese crown, a scepter in hand and a shimozaya on their waist. The top two of the four dancers wear red robes, and the remaining two wear green robes. The dancers perform unusual movements not seen in other dances, such as going up on the stage in pairs, bowing twice while sitting upright, and lying sideways.
