[Geography]
It is part of the Saar-Nahe mountain range, lying between the Rhenish Slate Mountains and the Lorraine terraces, and has a diverse topography. The central area is the hilly region between the Prims and Blies rivers. The northwestern part of the line Neunkirchen-Sankt Ingbert-Saarbrücken consists of coal seams, the southeastern part consists of variegated sandstone, and the highest part is the line that curves north from Völklingen to Neunkirchen, where it is covered with forests.

In the Middle Ages, most of the canton was part of the County of Saarbrücken, but in 1789 it became part of France.

 ザール川,ナーエNahe川山地の一部に属し,ライン粘板岩山地とロートリンゲンの地層段丘との間に位置し,多様な地形をもつ。中心地域はプリムスPrims川とブリースBlies川の間の丘陵地であり,ノインキルヘン,ザンクト・イングベルト,ザールブリュッケンの線の北西部は石炭層,南東部は雑色砂岩層からなり,フェルクリンゲンから北へ湾曲してノインキルヘンに至る線が最高部を形成し,森林地となっている。
