Xu Shi's body - I want to

Japanese:
Xu Shi's body - I want to

A Chinese style of bird-and-flower painting. This style of Chinese bird-and-flower painting was founded by the Southern Tang Dynasty painter Xu Xi (10th century) and his grandson Xu Chongsi. It is one of the two major styles of painting that rival the Huang style, and together they became typical of Chinese bird-and-flower painting from the end of the Northern Song Dynasty onwards, and played a major role in the development of bird-and-flower painting. While the Huang style, which is said to have originated from Huang Quan, is a realistic painting method using Gole coloring (precise outlines and dark colors), the Xu style is characterized by a mokkotsu method that does not use outlines and is mainly based on ink and color shading, and aims to express the essence of the subject by copying the gist of its form rather than depicting its external form. While the Huang style was mainly practiced in painting academies, the Xu style became favored by later literati painters.
