A prince of Qi during the Six Dynasties period in China. His courtesy name was Yunying. He was the second son of Emperor Wu. He was enfeoffed as King of Jingling and served as the Minister of the Secretariat. He was also known as Prince Liang of Jingling. He revered Buddhism and enjoyed welcoming guests. In particular, during the Yongming era, he gathered outstanding literary figures at his residence on Mount Jilong, west of Jiankang. The most prominent of these were known as the "Eight Friends of Jingling," and Xie Yuan, Shen Yue, and Ren Fang were particularly outstanding, and their style of poetry was called the "Yongming style."

中国，六朝時代の斉の王侯。字は雲英。武帝の第2子。竟陵王（きょうりょうおう）に封じられ尚書令などを務めた。それによって竟陵王子良とも呼ばれる。仏教を尊崇し，賓客を喜んだ。特に永明年間，建康西郊の鶏籠山の邸に優れた文学者を集めた。そのおもだった者を「竟陵八友」と呼ぶが，なかでも謝朓，沈約，任昉らが傑出し，その詩風は「永明体」と呼ばれる。
