Fire extinguishing equipment

Japanese:
Fire extinguishing equipment

This refers to machinery, equipment and facilities that use water or other extinguishing agents to extinguish fires. They are broadly divided into initial fire extinguishing equipment and fire brigade equipment.

Initial fire extinguishing equipment includes various fire extinguishers, simple fire extinguishing tools such as water buckets, water tanks, and dry sand, as well as indoor fire hydrant equipment, sprinkler equipment, water spray fire extinguishing equipment, foam fire extinguishing equipment, carbon dioxide fire extinguishing equipment, halogenated fire extinguishing equipment, powder fire extinguishing equipment, and outdoor fire hydrant equipment. Equipment used by the fire brigade includes connected water pipe equipment and connected sprinkler equipment. The installation locations of these must be marked with designated signs. Among fire extinguishing equipment, equipment that uses water holds a particularly important position. Water is normally found everywhere, is cheap, and is easy to use. In addition, its cooling and suffocating effects are far superior to other agents, making it the most effective fire extinguishing agent if used carefully. Regulations regarding fire extinguishing equipment are listed in the Fire Service Act Enforcement Order.
