〘Noun〙 A diagnostic method in Chinese medicine. It refers to looking (visual examination), listening (auscultation), asking (questioning), and touching (palpation). ※Okina Mondo (1650), Vol. 2: "By training in the wonderful techniques of the four examinations, one can cure a hundred diseases."
