霊長目オナガザル科シシバナザル属Rhinopithecusに属する旧世界ザルの総称。鼻がしゃくれ上がってしし鼻のように見えるためにこの名がつけられた。これと似た鼻をもつ別属のメンタウェーシシバナザルSimias concolorをも含めることがある。シシバナザル属は中国西部に生息するチベットシシバナザルR.roxellanaeとベトナム北部に生息するトンキンシシバナザルR.avunculusの2種を含むが，前者をさらに3種に分ける学者もいる。
