Japanese: 獅子座三十二話 - ししざさんじゅうにわ

Along with the Panchatantra and the 25 Tales of the Dead Demons, this is one of India's most representative collections of tales. The original title is Siṃhāsanadvātriṃśikā. It is also called Vikramcarita (The Deeds of King Vikrama). The wise king, King Vikrama Aditya, is given a throne (lion throne) decorated with 32 female statues by the god Indra (Taishra). After the king is killed in battle, King Bhoja of Dara discovers the throne and tries to sit on it, but one of the female statues tells him, "You must not sit on the throne unless you have the same courage as King Vikrama," and tells the story of King Vikrama's courageous deeds.

《パンチャタントラ》《屍鬼二十五話》と並ぶ，インドの代表的な説話集。原題は《シンハーサナ･ドバートリンシカーSiṃhāsanadvātriṃśikā》。《ビクラマ･チャリタVikramcarita(ビクラマ王の行動)》とも呼ばれている。名君ビクラマ･アーディティヤ王は，インドラ神(帝釈天)から32個の女人像で飾られた玉座(獅子座)を授けられる。王が戦死した後，ダーラーのボージャ王は玉座を発見し，その上に座ろうとすると，女人像の一つが，〈ビクラマ王と同様の勇気をそなえていないならば，玉座に座ってはならぬ〉と告げ，ビクラマ王の勇気ある行動を物語る。
