Japanese: 三昧塚古墳 - さんまいづかこふん

Located in Okizu, Tamazukuri-cho, Namegata-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, this three-tiered keyhole-shaped tomb dates back to the end of the 5th century during the Kofun period. It is located on alluvial plains created by the dissection of the Sonobe River on the north shore of Lake Kasumigaura, and measures 85m in length, 48m in diameter at the rear mound, 40m in width at the front, 8m in height at the rear mound, and 6m in height at the front, with its axis tilted 40° west of magnetic north. The mound is surrounded by three rows of haniwa, and from the southern base of the rear mound, animal haniwa such as horses, dogs, deer, and boars, as well as human haniwa, have been found. The main interior part is a combination box-shaped coffin with its axis oriented east-west, with a slab of stone as the lid and a rope-hanging protrusion on each long edge, and a pit for storing grave goods is attached to the north side in parallel.

茨城県行方郡玉造町沖洲に所在し，古墳時代の5世紀末に属する三段築成の前方後円墳。霞ヶ浦北岸の園部川が開析した沖積地に位置し，全長85m，後円部直径48m，前方部幅40m，後円部高8m，前方部高6mを測り，主軸は磁北から40゜西にかたむく。墳丘には三重の埴輪列がめぐり，後円南側裾からは馬，犬，鹿，猪などの動物埴輪や，人物埴輪も認められた。内部主体は，主軸を東西に置き，長側両縁に1個ずつの縄掛突起を備えた板石を蓋とした組合せの箱式棺で，北側に並列して副葬品収納の土壙が付設されている。
