Japanese: 三光坊 - さんこうぼう

?-1532 A Noh mask maker from the Sengoku period.
He became a monk at Heisen-ji Temple in Echizen (Fukui Prefecture) and later moved to Mount Hiei. He is one of the six (some say ten) Noh mask makers, and is said to be the creator of the old man mask called Sanko-jo. The three major families of Noh mask makers in the Edo period (Echizen Deme family, Omi Iseki family, and Ono Deme family) trace their roots back to Sanko-bo. He died in the first year of Tenbun. His real name was Chiaki Mitsuhiro.

越前(えちぜん)(福井県)平泉寺の僧となり,のち比叡(ひえい)山にうつる。六作(一説には十作(じっさく))のひとりで,三光尉(じょう)という翁(おきな)面の作者とされる。江戸時代の能面師三大家系(越前出目(でめ)家,近江(おうみ)井関家,大野出目家)は,三光坊を祖としている。天文(てんぶん)元年死去。本名は千秋満広。
