1417‐70 (Oei 24‐Bunmei 2) A military commander in the Muromachi period. His posthumous name was Seikan. Son of Sasaki (Kyogoku) Takamitsu. Junior Assistant Minister of the Central Ministry. Daizen-no-taifu. In December 1441 (Kakitsu 1), he succeeded his uncle Kyogoku Takakazu, who died fighting in the Kakitsu Incident, as Shugo of the three provinces of Izumo, Oki, and Hida. He served as head of the Samurai Department twice, from 1441 to 1447 (Bun'an 4) and from 1449 (Houtoku 1) to 1466 (Bunsho 1). During the Onin War, he joined the Eastern Army, and in 1469 he was appointed Shugo of Omi by the shogunate (Eastern Army).
